This, by far is the hardest assignment I've ever done in university. The video production was tough but this is a whole new level of difficulty. This is also my first time using Adobe Flash.
We were supposed to make a Flash presentation as a teaser for our video. It should consist of a 30 second introduction, a main page, synopsis, video, and credits.
First, I had to learn the most basic thing, which was using different kinds of tweens. I took one whole day just to understand what are those things and how to do them. After learning those things. it was about learning how to animate things. This was the hardest part because it was very time consuming.
Having finished this assignment, I've learned some new things about myself. I didn't know that I could be so emotional it comes to school work. I mean, I went through Form 6, people said it was tough but I find university (mass communication) is even tougher. The kind of difficulty is different, Form 6 is more about understanding complex academic theories, while university is more about having the mental strength to keep up with deadlines and standards. As I do my assignments, I try my best to make it look presentable in the 'real world'. That is challenge because of the level of skills and time that it took for one project. When I find myself not being able to meet the 'standards' I've given myself, I feel frustrated and many times I wanted to give up. I think at some point I did but I kept pushing myself anyway.
In the end, I realise that Flash is powerful tool for animation, I just need more time to practise.
